Citizenship by birth also applies to minor children of immigrant parents who have become naturalized.
  • Citizenship by naturalization

    – a foreign national who have held legal permanent resident status for at least five years (or three years if married to a U.S. citizen) and have been present in the United States for at least 30 consecutive months (or 18 consecutive months if married to a U.S. citizen) is eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship. The immigrant must be able to pass English proficiency and U.S. history test and demonstrate good moral character.
